In Tower Hamlets, three-phase power is largely a commercial story — the offices, fit-outs, and premises around Canary Wharf and the wider borough that need serious capacity. GFL Electrical design and install three-phase supplies and upgrades across the borough.
What three-phase is, and when you need it
Three-phase (around 400V) delivers much more power than standard single-phase, needed for:
- Commercial HVAC, server rooms, and large fit-outs
- Commercial kitchens and hospitality equipment
- High-demand homes combining heat pump + 22kW EV + battery
Tower Hamlets’ three-phase demand
- Canary Wharf and commercial premises — offices, retail fit-outs, and hospitality where three-phase supplies the HVAC, kitchens, and equipment a busy commercial space needs.
- Commercial kitchens in the borough’s many food businesses.
- High-demand flats and homes occasionally needing upgraded capacity.
For commercial premises, three-phase often pairs with a planned maintenance arrangement — see our commercial maintenance service.
The upgrade process
We assess your load, apply to the DNO for the three-phase supply where needed, and install the board and circuits to BS 7671 — coordinating with building management and the DNO for commercial sites.
