Here is what that actually means for you.
NICEIC approved
NICEIC — the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting — is one of the UK’s leading bodies for assessing and certifying electrical contractors. Being NICEIC-approved means:
- Our work is assessed against the UK wiring regulations (BS 7671), the national standard for safe electrical installation.
- We are reassessed regularly — approval is an ongoing commitment, not a one-off certificate. If a contractor falls below standard, their approval can be revoked.
- You have the reassurance of a recognised complaints and resolution route behind the work.

Part P competent person scheme
NICEIC is a government-authorised competent person scheme under Part P of the Building Regulations. In practice, that means we can self-certify notifiable electrical work and handle the building-control notification for you — you don’t have to arrange a separate inspection.
This matters for more than convenience: properly certified work is what protects your home insurance and keeps a future sale running smoothly. Notifiable work done without certification can hold up a sale or trigger a retrospective inspection at your cost.
Working to BS 7671
Every job we complete is carried out to BS 7671 — the IET Wiring Regulations. It governs how electrical installations are designed, installed, and tested to be safe. When we issue an Electrical Installation Certificate or an EICR, it confirms the work meets that standard.
What this means for you
- Safety — competent, independently assessed work you can rely on, even where you can’t see it.
- Compliance — certification that satisfies insurers, buyers’ solicitors, and (for landlords) the legal duty to keep installations safe.

Certification you receive
Depending on the job, you’ll get the appropriate documentation:
- Electrical Installation Certificate (EIC) — for new installations and larger works
- Minor Electrical Installation Works Certificate — for smaller jobs
- Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) — for periodic safety inspections (see our EICR testing service)
